So you’ve finally decided that you can’t take it much longer; the sweet agony of long make-out sessions and endless hours of heavy petting. You’re finally ready for the main event—sex! Before you jump out of your knickers there are a few things that you should know to help make your first time as memorable and delish as can be.

First and foremost, your decision to start having sex should be your own and no one else’s. We shouldn’t need to say it, but sex should ALWAYS be consensual on both parts. Everyone has different reasons for waiting or not waiting and pressure from others should never be one of them. Regardless of age; the decision to get busy should be yours and it should feel right because the last thing you need is regrets.

Next on the agenda is safe sex. As unromantic as you may think this seems;you need to discuss with your partner what type of protection you will be using. Condoms are always recommended regardless of whatever other method you may use since they are the only way to protect you from STD’s… except for abstinence which you obviously have opted against if you’re reading through this article! Ladies – don’t just leave it up to the man to carry condoms – this is your body too and you shouldn’t just expect someone else to take care of it for you. Pick up your own stash of condoms to avoid any mishaps or ruined evenings or worse. There’s nothing more unromantic than an unplanned pregnancy or an STD!

Finally we get to the good stuff-the tips to make it great! Keeping it as light as possible is important ‘cuz the last thing you need is to be even more nervous and on edge when you’re trying to have sex. While you don’t necessarily want your first time to be in a back alley or in the car; don’t get too wrapped up in the place you choose and trying to set up some over-the-top ambiance. All you really need here is a place that’s comfortable and quiet where you can play sans interruption. Regardless of your age, first time penetration will be slightly painful for her and likely quite quick for him and definitely a little awkward for you both, so taking your time and resisting the urge to race with your overzealous hormones will be worth your while. Enjoy every delicious second and every sweet inch as you explore each others bodies and don’t skimp on the foreplay ‘cuz not only does it feel awesome, but it will help to relax you and get you nice and primed for the main event-not to mentioned lubed!

Play safe, consider each others feelings and pleasure and don’t worry about making it romantic-movie perfect but rather perfect for you which should mean exciting, awkward, silly, fun, slippery, messy and most of all wonderful!
